Tottenham and Wales winger Gareth Bale wants to win in Saturday’s European Championship qualifier against England in order to kick-start the Welsh qualifying campaign, according to a report on Sky
“People have been saying we’re a young team, but I think now it’s time to start producing results and good performances,” Bale said. “There’s no better game to do that than against England at the weekend. Hopefully we can come out on the right side of the result. There’s no bigger game for Wales than Wales versus England. It’s a derby in international terms”.
Bale, 21, has just returned from injury for Spurs, and is still regaining his fitness levels, however the Cardiff-born winger feels it is not just on him to inspire the young Wales side: “All I’m concentrating on is going out there and playing my best. It’s not about one player and how we work as a team. If we get our game plan right then we can definitely come out on top.”
