Speaking to ESPN Harry Redknapp has defended Arsene Wenger ahead of tonight’s North London derby but then insisted that Wenger has become one of the biggest nutters in the League.
In the interview Redknapp explained that expectation on managers now is far too great and that some fans simply expect too much.
However, he did add at the end: “Suddenly when Arsenal started to lose he became one of the biggest nutters of all. He is jumping around more than anyone now. That’s how it gets to you. We all do it. It’s wanting to win.”
Spurs want Stoke game rearranged.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has called on the FA to re-schedule the already re-arranged Stoke City game against Manchester City. The game was originally to be played on 14th May but has now been put back to the 17th due to City’s appearance in the FA Cup final.
There is a feeling that beneficial results could be arranged to suit eachother terms of European qualification.
Redknapp told Sky Sports: “I think it would be easier to play at a different time for sure. The chairman spoke to me last night about it, we feel it should be changed the date, it should be changed but it’s out of my hands, it’s up to the powers that be.”
Five transfer targets.
The Daily Telegraph has today featured five possible transfer targets for Spurs this summer. The speculation has started already with transfer targets being linked both in and out of the club.
The paper suggests that Charlie Adam, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gary Cahill, Didier Drogba and Phil Neville could be on their way to White Hart Lane this summer. There have been links before with Adam, Cahill and Neville.
It seems increasingly likely that Spurs will be adding another striker over the summer but for the time being Redknapp is keeping his cards close to his chest.
