Carroll: Liverpool can still get into Europe

Liverpool striker Andy Carroll thinks the club can still make 5th place this season, and secure European football for the Merseyside club.

Liverpool currently sit in 6th place in the Premier League, five points behind 5th place Tottenham, who also have a game in hand, taking them potentially eight points ahead. But Carroll, who scored his first goals for the club on Monday night’s 3-0 victory over Manchester City, told the Liverpool Daily Post: “Obviously it’s at the back of everybody’s minds. Everyone wants to be in that fifth position and everyone knows that we are capable of doing it.

“We’ve just got to work hard and try to make sure we get three points every week and hopefully Tottenham will have a slip up. I think every player wants to play in Europe and coming to a club like Liverpool it’s expected. All the other lads want to be in Europe as much as me.

“All we can do is work as hard as we can to make sure we get there.”
