Chelsea news – Blues begin Neymar talks, Cole injury latest, Carlo: We must win every game

Cole injury latest.

Chelsea are waiting to hear the extent of Ashley Cole’s injury picked up in the win against Birmingham on Wednesday night.

The defender came off as a precaution after picking up a knock and was replaced by Ryan Bertrand, who went to provide the assist for the Blues third goal scored by Flourent Malouda.

Carlo Ancelotti is confident however the defender will be fit to face West Ham on Saturday as the Stamford Bridge side attempt to keep the pressure on leaders Man Utd.

Before last night Cole had played every minute of every Premier League game for his club this season.

Carlo: We must win every game.

Carlo Ancelotti says his side must now win their remaining games if they are to stand any chance of retaining their Premier League crown, the Telegraph report.

The Italian is also buoyed by the fact that Man Utd has a tough run-in as they still have to play their two nearest rivals, his Blues side and Arsenal.

Ancelotti, speaking after the Birmingham game, said: “In football, I learned that everything can happen in the game right up to the final whistle. You can win the title in the last minute and you can lose the title in the last minute.

He continued: “Now we are happy tonight because we’ve reached second place. We await to see what happens in the next five games.”

Blues begin Neymar talks.

Reports suggest Chelsea representatives have been in contact with Santos over a summer move for Neymar, according to the Metro.

However this is only half the story, as the potential deal is being thrashed out by owner Roman Abramovich behind the back of manager Carlo Ancelotti, which only adds fuel to the fire surrounding the Italian’s future at the club.

A manager clashing with the board over transfer dealings at Stamford Bridge is not uncommon as Jose Mourinho quit the club after clashing with Abramovich over transfers.

Neymar has already stated his desire to play in the Premier League, saying Chelsea are a ‘great club’ and ‘it is a dream of every player to play there’.
