Chelsea plan bid for young Polish ‘keeper

Chelsea have been linked with a Summer bid for Polish goalkeeper Grzegorz Sandomierski, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Sandomierski, 21, has been first choice for his hometown team Jagiellonia Bielystok for the past two seasons, and has already generated interest from a number of Europe’s top clubs.

Chelsea currently have Ross Turnball, 26, and Hilario, 35, at the club, but neither are expected to become first teamers once Peter Cech ends his Blues career, and buying a young ‘keeper now who can develop with the club over time would be the preferred option.

According to the report, Chelsea scouts saw Sandomierski play for Poland in their recent 0-0 draw with Greece, and it is likely the club would like to secure the deal early in order to lower the potential cost.
