Gomes: Tottenham must concentrate on Stoke game

Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has spoken of his disappointment for Tuesday’s 4-0 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid, and says the club must focus on the “massive” game at the weekend against Stoke City.

Gomes, 30, told the club’s official website: “Madrid was disappointing for everyone, especially to go down to 10 men so early. It was made very difficult for us. We had to work so hard, all the lads got cramp because they had to run so much.

“Now we have to pick ourselves up because we need to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

“We cannot afford to think about the next game with Madrid, we must all think about the next game against Stoke which will be a massive game for us.”

Spurs go into Saturday’s home tie with Stoke on the back of four games without a goal, and four Premier League ties without a win.
