La Liga Daily – Getafe sold to Dubai investors and Real Madrid set to sell stadium naming rights

It has been revealed that Dubai’s Royal Emirates Group of companies will officially announce on Thursday that it has purchased La Liga club Getafe for around £80m. The group’s director of operations, Sheikh Butti Bin Suhail Al Maktoum, told Reuters yesterday: “It is Getafe… we will announce it at a ceremony tomorrow.” Sheikh Butti also said that the Dubai Minister of Culture, the Spanish ambassador and “other personalities” would be present.

The Royal Emirates Group, one of Dubai’s most dynamic business organisations, describes itself as a valuable contributor to the development of the United Arab Emirates and claims its interests span a variety of fields represented by 64 group-owned companies and brands.
