Liverpool plan move for Serie A full-back

Liverpool are keen on bringing Udinese defender Pablo Armero to Anfield, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

The Reds had previously been linked with a £10m move for Newcastle left-back Jose Enrique, however Toon manager Alan Pardew recently distanced the player from a Magpies exit, leaving Liverpool’s transfer guru Damien Comolli looking for alternatives.

Armero, 24, is a pacey attacking full-back/winger with good feet, and impressed in Udinese’s 2-0 away victory against title-challengers Napoli on Sunday. He has also made 14 appearances for Colombia.

For Liverpool, the left-back position has become a priority to strengthen, after losing Fabio Aurelio during the weekend’s draw with Arsenal, and having only the inexperienced teenager Jack Robinson available. Summer signing Paul Konchesky has also failed to impress since his move to Anfield, and is set for an exit at the end of the season.
