Mancini: Adebayor can go.

Roberto Mancini has told Emmanuel Adebayor that he can leave the club this summer if it is what he wants.

The former Arsenal striker is on loan at Real Madrid and has said on a number of occasions that he is happy at the Spanish side and wants to sign a permanent deal with Los Blancos.

Adebayor had become surplus to requirements for Roberto Mancini after the signing of Edin Dzeko from VFL Wolfsburg and the Italian allowed the 27-year-old to join Jose Mourinho’s side.

Mancini told Sky Sports: “I am happy for him that he is scoring goals and I hope he can continue to score. At the end of the season we will see. If he wants to stay, he can. I am happy for Manu because he is a good player.”

Boateng out for season.

Jerome Boateng has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his knee, according to The Daily Mail.

The German international had damaged cartilage in his knee repaired and has been out of action since March and despite hopes that he would feature for the Citizens nearer the end of the season it has now been confirmed that he will miss the rest of the campaign.

The club are taking drastic measures to heal the hamstring of Micah Richards to make sure he is fit to face Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final. The 22-year-old has been sleeping in an oxygen tent in an attempt to increase his chances of being fit for the clash.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has praised David Silva for his impressive performances this season, insisting the Spaniard is plays a vital role in the side.

Mancini has utilised Silva in the Trequartista role this season and believes the World Cup winner has filled the role perfectly.

The former Inter manager told Yahoo that Silva’s vision and technique make him a fantastic Trequartista and he has been an important player for City’s battle for Champions League football next season: “Trequartista is an important position in the team. For me David Silva is a fantastic player because his technique is incredible and he understands when the right time to pass the ball is.”
