Tottenham and Liverpool have been put on alert after Ipswich Town manager Paul Jewell admitted that the club would likely have to accept a substantial bid for star striker Connor Wickham.
Wickham, 18, has impressed this season, scoring six goals in 18 league appearances, but Jewell was not optomisitc about keeping hold of the young star.
Jewell told Sky
“But if he does go he will not be going on the cheap and we are certainly not actively looking to sell him.”
It is thought that Wickham has a minimum release fee clause in his contract, at a fee of around £15m, at which the club would be obliged to allow talks with the player to take place.
