Tottenham news – Spurs plan Cavani move, Corluka explains fan clash, Crouch targets 4th spot

Corluka explains fan clash.

The game at White Hart Lane on Saturday ended with Vedran Corluka being dragged away from his own supporters by Assistant Manager Kevin Bond after an altercation with a fan.

Speaking to Sky Sports the Croatian defender said: “I told one supporter he was an idiot, he was moaning during the match when he should have been supporting the team.”

It is likely that the FA will take some action.

Crouch targets 4th spot.

After his return to goal scoring form on Saturday Peter Crouch has urged his team mates to secure a top four finish. Having made their debut in the Champions League this season the striker is keen to remain in the competition.

Speaking to Sky Sports Crouch said: “It’s been exciting, we’ve proved ourselves, shown we can play at that level and now we need to start putting pressure on teams like Man City and making sure we get in next season. We can definitely do it.”

He identified the clash with Manchester City on 10th May as the crucial fixture.

Spurs plan Cavani move.

The Daily Mail has reported today that Spurs will make a move for the Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani in the summer.

He has already hit 25 goals this season for Napoli and despite the Italian club slapping an £80 million price tag on him Spurs are believed to be interested.

It is an area that Harry Redknapp has already stated needs strengthening and he would be a valuable addition to the squad. It is likely that they would face competition from Manchester City.
