A number of rumours began flying around in the aftermath of Carlo Ancelotti’s sacking. Fans were disappointed with the lack of class shown by the club, who eyewitnesses claimed had axed Ancelotti in the tunnel of Goodison Park, immediately after the game against Everton.
The club were quick to react and made a statement quashing all rumours by claiming the manager was relieved of his duties in an empty dressing room after everyone had left. The club also added that the only reason Carlo was sacked immediately after the game was so he could say goodbye to his players and fans around the ground.

However, Salomon Kalou later made a statement claiming he had not even known that the manager had been sacked, which completely contradicted the reason stated by the club for the Italian’s immediate dismissal. The news has generated a lot of negative publicity towards Chelsea for their harsh treatment of people like Ray Wilkins and Carlo Ancelotti.
