Currently valued at around £25m, Chelsea would not be put off by the price-tag, and any deal would provide Spurs manager Harry Redknapp the funds to make a big money move for a top-quality striker, along with another central midfielder.
Manchester United were previously thought to be favourites to land the former Dinamo Zagreb star, with a money plus Dimitar Berbatov deal rumoured, and a similar bid with Didier Drogba could materialise from Chelsea.
