The Football Association have confirmed that they will be investigating details surrounding French defender Gael Givet’s move to Blackburn Rovers, according to several national newspapers including The
Givet, 29, claims he was forced to pay an unlicensed middleman £50,000 for his role in helping the former Marseille star seal a move to Ewood Park back in 2009.
The versatile, tough-tackling defender, who is popular with the fans, has made 28 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring once against Tottenham Hotspur.

A spokesman for the FA said: “We will be looking into the material and the issues that may be raised by the content provided by The Sun.”
Meanwhile, The Guardian reports that Rovers boss Steve Kean has been charged with drink-driving.
The 43-year-old Scot, who has been in charge of the Lancashire club since December, was released on bail after the incident on Saturday night and will appear in court next month.
Kean will be free to take charge of Rovers’ crucial final Premier League game away to Wolves this Sunday.
