Roma full-back John Arne Riise has not ruled out a return to Liverpool in the Summer, as the Norwegian enters the final year of his contract in Rome.
Riise spent seven seasons at Anfield between 2001 and 2008, winning seven trophies, before his move to Serie A for around £4m.
But the Norway international is keen on a move back to the Premier League after recent rumours linking him with Liverpool, telling Sky Sports: “I am flattered by reports linking me with a return to England. Liverpool are close to my heart. They are a great club and I have some good memories. I have a contract here until June 2012, so you never know.”
Liverpool could see the left-sided defender as an ideal alternative to Jose Enrique, who may be priced out of a move from Newcastle to Merseyside.
