Sturridge willing to leave Chelsea for first-team football

Chelsea’s on-loan striker Daniel Sturridge has gone on record stating his intent to secure first-team football at Stamford Bridge next season. It was expected that after such a successful stint at Bolton (where the young English striker bagged eight goals in just 11 appearances) he would not settle for the Chelsea bench.

“I want to play at Chelsea but if the chances don’t come at Chelsea, then I will have to look elsewhere,” said the Blues No. 23, according to the Daily Star.

The news will shake Chelsea who risk losing the talented youngster now that they find a sudden need to accommodate several forwards into the starting line-up (including players like Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres). Perhaps the club should consider this before they decide to spend on more new talent in the summer.
