The former manager Carlo Ancelotti was sacked on Sunday after failing to win a trophy this season.
Speaking to Sky Sports news Redknapp said: “I have a great job at Tottenham; things are going well for me. I have had a couple of great years; it couldn’t have gone better for me. Spurs close to Gameiro signing.
The Daily Mirror has reported today that Spurs are very close to agreeing a deal with Lorient for striker Kevin Gameiro. It is understood that Redknapp has made a personal visit to watch the French striker himself before making a move.
Last Saturday Redknapp and his assistant Kevin Bond flew to France to watch Lorient take on Nice. It is no secret that Spurs are in the market for a new striker and Gameiro fits the bill.
He has scored 23 goals in all competitions this season and would be available for a reported £12 million.
Keane to move on.
Spurs striker Robbie Keane has accepted that he will be leaving this summer. After spending an unsuccessful spell at West Ham he is looking to attract potential suitors in the coming weeks.
He has been called up for the Republic of Ireland’s summer fixtures where he can put himself in the shop window. West Ham have already stated they will not be taking up the option to buy him, newly promoted QPR have been linked but are yet to make a formal approach.
Speaking to Sky Sports Keane said: “I am a Tottenham player and I am sure they will want to get a bit of money for me. Whether a Championship team would pay that, that’s another problem, but I want to play in the Premier League for the next couple of years.”
