If the result against Blackpool wasn’t bad enough, the sight of Gareth Bale being stretchered off topped off an awful afternoon for Tottenham Hotspur. The injury looked serious and he left White Hart Lane in a protective boot last night.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Harry Redknapp said: “It looked a bad challenge, to be fair. It might not be so bad. He might have done his ligament; it may just be a twist. I don’t know, we will have to wait and see.”
This latest set back is another in a long line for the newly crowned PFA player of the year. Hopefully the injury is not too bad and he can get a full pre-season under his belt.

Redknapp ready to sell VdV.
The People have today reported that Harry Redknapp’s biggest transfer decision this summer is whether to sell Rafael Van der Vaart. It has emerged that Redknapp is unhappy about the lack of goals from their strikers and feels that the Dutchman’s lack of mobility could handicap the side next year.
Tottenham want this news to remain quiet but have alerted the some of the top European clubs to his availability. The People Sport state that if a suitable offer comes in for Van der Vaart he will be sold, as long as Redknapp has replacements lined up.
Spurs target Tiote.
The Metro have stated that Spurs will make enquiries into securing the services of Cheik Tiote from Newcastle this summer. The Ivory Coast international has enjoyed a wonderful debut season in the Premier League after arriving from Twente in the summer.
It is understood that Wilson Palacios could be a part of any deal struck after slipping down the pecking order behind Tom Huddlestone and Sandro. The Metro reports that there is already interest in Palacios from some Italian clubs but Redknapp is keen to use him as a makeweight in any deal that is struck.
