According to a report in the Daily Mail, Tottenham coach Clive Allen was in France last night scouting Lorient striker Kevin Gameiro in their 3-1 defeat to Montpellier.
Spurs are known to be on the lookout for one or two high-quality strikers, having made approaches in January for Fernando Llorente, Guiseppe Rossi, and Diego Forlan, and are thought to be closely tracking the 24-year-old France international.

Gameiro has netted 20 goals in 33 Ligue 1 games this season, attracting attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Juventus and Arsenal, but Spurs are thought to be ready to move early to avoid being in direct competition over the players’ signature against clubs with a higher wage capability.
