The Sun reports that Lille playmaker Gervinho is set to snub a move to Tottenham and join North London rivals Arsenal this summer.
The 24 year old Ivorian was in scintillating form for Lille last season, helping them win a domestic double of the league and the French cup, and has attracted several Premier League sides to his services. Lille are reported to have rejected a £10.6 million offer from Spurs this weekend and have paved the way for Arsenal to try and sign Gervinho.
As manager Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his squad over the summer, Gervinho is said to be his number one target and the Ivorian himself has revealed that a move to Arsenal would be a dream move for him. Gervinho is the current Ivory Coast national team captain and if Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri’s proposed move to Manchester United is true, Gervinho is the ideal replacement for the Frenchman at the Emirates Stadium.

Gazidis: Fans decide Wenger future.
Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has revealed last night that if the Arsenal fans felt strongly about Arsene Wenger leaving the club, he would be forced out of Arsenal, The Telegraph reports.
At a Arsenal Supporters’ Trust meeting last night, Arsenal fans vented their frustration at why the club had not won a trophy for a sixth successive season. Gazidis promised he had full faith in manager Wenger, but also added that he had trust in the fans’ views and opinions.
Gazidis said: ‘We 100 per cent support Arsene. I 100 per cent support Arsene and feel he has done a fantastic job in a difficult period for the club. Ultimately, Arsene is ultimately accountable to the fans – they ultimately make judgement. If you are seeing the relationship between the fans and the manager break down over that time is unsustainable. But I don’t think we are anywhere near that’.
Other points addressed at the meeting inside the Emirates Stadium, with over 200 Arsenal fans present, was the 6.5 per cent increase in season ticket prices for next year at the club and the sale of Arsenal to American businessman Stan Kroenke.
Real Madrid midfielder link.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton are all in the race to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sergio Canales, the Daily Mirror reports.
The Bernabeu hierarchy do not want to let the highly rated playmaker slip through their hands and are willing to loan out the Spaniard for more experience. Canales has had a tough first year in Spain and is looking for a move to England to gain some experience before returning to fight for his place in the Madrid side. The 20 year old could be the subject of offers from Arsenal if they do not get their number one midfield target Gervinho this summer or if they let midfielder Samir Nasri move to Manchester United.
Canales himself has revealed that he had options to move to England in the January transfer window and he would like to show what he can do at a club, so that Madrid manager Jose Mourinho can see his undeniable talent and maybe give him more pitch time in the Spanish capital.
