Arsenal are tracking Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal as a possible replacement for midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to the Daily Mirror.
As speculation mounts over a Fabregas move to Barcelona, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking to Vidal to immediately replace Arsenal’s current captain. Vidal’s form last season, scoring 10 goals, helped Bayer Leverkusen to a second place finish last season and the 24 year old is with the Chilean national side preparing for the Copa America.
The Gunners will have to pay around £15m for the defensive midfielder, who can also play at right back, and are expected to try and finalise a deal as soon as possible if Fabregas decides to leave. Fabregas’ future is undecided at the Emirates and he was left out of the promotion for the new Arsenal away kit for next season.

Talks over Cahill begin.
Bolton are said to have opened talks with Arsenal over the possibility of selling highly rated central defender Gary Cahill, the Daily Express reports.
Cahill has been on Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s watchlist for some time now and after a season that showed the defensive frailties the Gunners hold, Wenger is prepared to take decisive action by paying around £17m for the 25 year old.
Cahill’s contract only has 12 months left and Bolton are keen to cash in before the deal runs out and he may leave on a free transfer from the Reebok Stadium. A whole host of English clubs have been linked with the England international, including Liverpool and Manchester City, with Serie A champions also reportedly keen on looking into the signing of Cahill.
Wenger will have to act fast to bring in Cahill before the start of the season and would ideally like to have a good squad in place before the final few weeks of the pre-season.
No Hazard move.
Arsenal target Eden Hazard is not for sale by his club Lille, French publication RMS reports. Hazard has also been touted as a potential transfer target of Paris St. Germain.
Hazard was crowned the Ligue 1 Player of the Year last season for his impressive performances that saw Lille win the French double. Following reports that Arsenal were attempting to make a move for the 20 year old, Lille president Michel Seydoux has moved swiftly to dismiss any reports of a sale.
Seydoux said: ‘Eden Hazard will stay home. They say everything can go quickly in football. But at Lille, we keep to our commitments.’
The Lille playmaker will not follow Gervinho out of the door at LOSC, with the Ivorian attacker prepared to leave the Stade Metropole and possibly to Arsenal. The 24 year old Gervinho has been the subject of a £10.6m offer from the Gunners and could possibly be an Arsenal player next season.
