With uncertainty surrounding Chelsea at the moment, there is one piece of news the club received recently, that will spread some cheer around Stamford Bridge.
Michael Essien recently went on record stating his intent to remain a Blue next season. The powerful midfielder was being linked with a high profile move to Italy and considering the Blues still do not have a manager, it seemed enough of a reason to convince Essien to think of a move away from London.
However, the Ghana international told Sky Sports: “I am looking forward to the next season, I want to win back the title and bring the Champions League to Chelsea.”

Lukaku plays down Blues talks.
Chelsea target Romelu Lukaku has cooled rumours of an imminent deal sealing his move to Stamford Bridge. The teenage goal scoring sensation suggested there has been no formal approach from the Blues just yet.
Lukaku made a statement on his Facebook and Twitter pages, where he claimed he was only interested in passing his exams at the moment.
The Belgian starlet is also scheduled to start the pre-season with Anderlecht. However, the general manager, Herman van Holsbeeck expects a deal to be struck this summer.
“Sure he will leave, and his departure is crucial to our transfers,” Van Holsbeeck told the Gazet van Antwerpen.
“I do not know if it will be Chelsea, there are many big clubs interested and we are negotiating. One thing is certain, he will not spend another year with Anderlecht.”
Mancienne pleased with Hamburg move.
Michael Mancienne spoke of his recent move from Chelsea to Hamburg and claimed it was an honour to join a ‘big team.’
The former Chelsea right-back was sent out on-loan more often than his tenure at the Bridge and was more than happy to complete a move away from the North London side.
Talking to Teamtalk, the 23-year-old defender revealed that he had a few other offers to consider but chose Hamburg without question. “I saw it as a massive opportunity to go abroad and to play in the German league, so I’m really excited by it,” said Mancienne.
The England Under 21 star is also confident his decision to quit Chelsea will make him a much better player.
