Chelsea winger Salomon Kalou admits he is a big fan of the way Arsenal play football. The Ivorian told the club’s official website, chelseafc.com, that the game between Arsenal and Barcelona at the Emirates Stadium was his favourite of the season.
Kalou has been at Chelsea since 2006 after signing from Dutch club Feyenoord, but he has failed to hold down a regular starting berth at Stamford Bridge and is generally seen as an impact substitution. Kalou could find himself slip further down the pecking order with Daniel Sturridge’s loan spell at Bolton ending and the England under 21 striker returning to Chelsea for next season.
The Ivorian said: ‘I loved watching Arsenal vs Barcelona, the first leg this season. Both teams wanted to play football; it was a beautiful game with non-stop action. Arsenal were pushing all the way in the second half and then to score two goals in the final 15 minutes having gone behind in the first half was fantastic.’

Neymar to snub Blues.
Brazilian wonderkid Neymar is now expected to snub Chelsea’s advances and move to Real Madrid, Sky Sports reports.
The player’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro, believes that the highly-rated Brazil international forward should join Jose Mourinho’s Madrid side and reject Chelsea, who have been courting the player since last summer. Chelsea are still keen on the £20 million forward, but with Ribeiro looking to ship his talent to Spain, Chelsea may find it difficult to get Neymar’s signature.
Ribeiro said: ‘If he was my son, I would want him at Madrid. They are the best club in the world; they have no equal. I know their president (Florentino Perez) well, he is a serious man and a great fan’.
In recent days, Neymar has played down a move to Europe and is happy to stay in Brazil for a little while longer. Ribeiro, however, is keen to push a deal through to a top European side to continue to increase the development of Neymar, who has dubbed himself to be as good as Lionel Messi.
Riijkard options open.
Potential Chelsea manager Frank Riijkard has played down any move towards Aston Villa, Dutch website Voetbalcentraal.net reports.
Riijkard managed Barcelona to victories over Chelsea in the 2005-06 season, where he won the Champions League with the Catalan side, and he certainly has the European and international experience that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is looking for. Villa and FC Twente are both interested in the former Holland international, but Riijkard has ruled out a move to Villa Park.
The Dutchman’s agent NuSport said: ‘We have not had any contact with Aston Villa. We play everything around my client, but not from that club‘.
Turkey manager Guus Hiddink is still the favourite for the job at Stamford Bridge, but with the legal tussles Chelsea and the Turkish FA are locked in, Riijkard could be the simpler option and bring just as much experience as his compatriot Hiddink.
