Man City news – Madrid want Dzeko, Vieira to leave City, Blackburn eye Adebayor

Vieira to leave City.

Patrick Viera will leave Man City this summer after his name topped the club’s list of released players, the Independent report.

However, the 34-year-old does is not ready to quit playing altogether and it is reported that offers have come in from the United States, Qatar – and even Europe – for the ex-Arsenal captain.

His release from City pulls the curtain down on the British career, of one of the most exceptional Premier League midfielders, with his Arsenal career representing three Premier League titles.

His final minute appearance against Stoke in the FA Cup final, exemplified the frustrations felt by the Frenchman in his second spell in the Premier League, as he struggled to attain any serious game time.

Madrid want Dzeko.

Edin Dzeko has emerged as a surprise target for Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to The Sun.

Jose Mourinho is desperate to take a punt on the Bosnian, who has failed to impress at Eastlands since his £27m move back in January, and hopes a bid of £20m will persuade City to sell.

Dzeko has only scored six goals since his high profile move and with talk of more strikers arriving at Eastlands; he could find himself out in the cold.

The lumbering striker was originally a target for Madrid but he signed a 4½-year-deal with the Sky Blues, however, he has since struggled to adapt to the pace of the Premier League.

Blackburn eye Adebayor.

Blackburn Rovers will start their summer spending spree by targeting Man City outcast Emmanuel Adebayor, Mirror Football report.

The former Arsenal striker has failed to impress Roberto Mancini and he returned from his loan deal with Real Madrid on Monday, after the Spanish side failed to make the deal permanent.

City may be forced to except just £10m for the 27-year-old, which would prove a massive loss on a player they signed for £25m two years ago.

Although money seems no object at Eastland’s any such fee received in a deal would help to fund the Blues’ pursuit of Udinese’s Alexis Sanchez.
