Reports that Man City are interested in signing Napoli striker Ezequiel were laughed off by the club’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis, according to ESPN Soccernet.
Mancini has not hidden his admiration for the Argentine forward although does not believe he is worth the figure that represents his release clause.
“I have three attackers, but we do need another one, could that be Napoli’s Ezequiel Lavezzi? I like him a lot, but I don’t believe he is worth his €30m release fee.” The Italian said.
However, De Laurentiis is not taking reports of Man City’s interest seriously: “We all have the money but we are here and no one has called us. Hence, this story makes me laugh. My dear Mancini, I am sorry for you.”

Baines in City link.
Manchester City are preparing a bid for Everton’s Leighton Baines as they attempt to kick-start their summer spending, The Sun report.
Roberto Mancini made enquiries about the left-back last season but got little encouragement from David Moyes, but the former is ready to renew his interest in the 26-year-old.
However, with this year’s inflated prices for homegrown players, the Blues face a big outlay to secure Baines’ services; essentially they can expect a £20m price tag to be placed on the defender’s head.
City’s only saving grace is that Moyes must sell, before he himself can buy, and money in that region could fund a move for out of favour City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Ade dismisses Rovers move.
Emmanuel Adebayor has distanced himself from a move to Blackburn Rovers by saying he would like to stay with Real Madrid, Sky Sports report.
He also went further to ‘thank’ Paris Saint Germain for their interest in his services but re-iterated his desire to remain at a club where he has the chance of winning silverware.
The striker told Ivorian paper The Patriot: “I say thank you to PSG for thinking of me but for all the respect I owe them, I will not go there and it is clear that I will not (win trophies) at Zenit or Blackburn.”
He continued: “I’d like to stay with the Merengue. But you know I am a footballer and what is important is to play football whether it’s Manchester City or elsewhere.”
