The agent of Dimitar Berbatov expects the striker’s future to be decided after crunch talks between Manchester United representatives and Berbatov, the Daily Mirror reports.
Berbatov’s future has been in doubt after he was omitted from the Champions League Final squad to take on Barcelona, but the Bulgarian wants to remain at Old Trafford. Berbatov scored 22 goals last season in all competitions, but did not feature towards the business end of the season where United won their 19th league title.
Emil Danchev, Berbatov’s agent, said: ‘We’ll know more after we have talks with United, but Berbatov wants to stay and keep winning trophies’.
Reports have suggested the 30 year old will move in the summer, with French side PSG the leaders for Berbatov, but Danchev insists that the Bulgarian forward wants to stay at Old Trafford. Berbatov joined United in 2008 from Tottenham and has scored 42 league goals in 96 appearances at the club.

Young to complete deal.
A move for Aston Villa midfielder Ashley Young will be officially confirmed today as the midfielder had a medical in Manchester last night, the Manchester Evening News reports.
The 25 year old’s personal terms are being agreed after a successful medical at the Bridgewater Hospital in Manchester last night and a fee of around £20m have been agreed. Young has been on holiday in Las Vegas all summer, but jetted in to seal the deal with the Premier League champions.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is placing his faith in young talent with a deal for Phil Jones already agreed and a move for Spanish under 21 goalkeeper David de Gea ready to be wrapped up when the 20 year old returns from the European Championships.
Young has made 155 appearances at Villa Park, scoring 30 goals and has easily been the best player for Aston Villa in his time at the club since his 2008 switch from Watford.
Varane snubs Utd for Madrid.
Manchester United target Raphael Varane is set to join Spanish side Real Madrid after Lens chairman Gervais Martel revealed he will not move to Manchester, ESPN reports.
Varane is one of the hottest prospects at football and Martel described him as a ‘phenomenon’ at a meeting with Lens supporters. Lens were relegated to Ligue 2 and a move away for the 18 year old was inevitable. Martel had previously demanded £8m for the central defender and revealed that he rejected an offer from fellow French side Paris St. Germain.
Martel said: ‘He’ll play for Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho’s guidance. He has already met him, as well as meeting Zinedine Zidane. The decision is not about money. I have to think about his career plans. He’ll be joining a club with a great sporting project. I’m sure he will find his way.’
The defender was strongly linked with Manchester United all summer, but a move to Manchester seems off the cards after the revelation of the Lens chairman.
