Tottenham news – Blackburn in for Keane, Blues plan Bale plus Modric bids, Reds eye Lennon

Blackburn in for Keane.

Robbie Keane’s Tottenham career looks like coming to an end after Blackburn have emerged as leading candidates for his signature according to the Metro. The Irish international has struggled to hold down a regular place in the last couple of seasons and has been sent on loan to Celtic and West Ham.

Spurs are keen to get him off their wage bill as he is understood to be one of the highest paid players at the club. However there has been very little interest thus far.

Blues plan Bale plus Modric bids.

The new Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is to make an audacious double swoop for Spurs players Gareth Bale and Luka Modric, according to the Enfield Independent. The Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is set to test Daniel Levy’s and Harry Redknapp’s resolve with a huge bid.

Luka Modric has already spoken of his desire to leave White Hart Lane this summer and favours a move to Chelsea as he would like to remain in London. It is understood that Gareth Bale’s future could well hinge upon the possible sale of Modric. If Spurs begin to sell their star players it could see several stars looking to move.

Although Spurs have claimed publicly that their star players will not be moving it is thought that Modric will be able to engineer his move by handing in a transfer request.

Reds eye Lennon.

The News of the World reports that Kenny Dalglish is looking at bringing Aaron Lennon to Liverpool this summer. Spurs manager Harry Redknapp would be reluctant to sell Lennon but knows he may need to offload a star in order to fund his own spending.

After bringing in Jordan Henderson already Dalglish is in talks with Charlie Adam and has made moves to sign Stewart Downing from Aston Villa. He is looking to assemble a creative midfield to supply Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll next season.
