Palacios set for Napoli.

Tottenham central midfielder Wilson Palacios will find out in the next 48 hours whether he can secure a move to Italian side Napoli. The Mirror has reported today that Spurs will give their final decision to Napoli before the weekend.

Palacios arrived at Spurs in 2009 from Wigan and was a star performer during his initial spell at White Hart Lane. However, he has fallen further down the pecking order in recent months since the arrival of Sandro. The Honduran international has also struggled with a knee injury.

Napoli have qualified for the Champions League this season and are looking to strengthen their squad.

Pienaar set for surgery.

The Tottenham winger Steven Pienaar has confirmed he will undergo surgery after South Africa’s game with Egypt on Sunday. The Spurs winger has revealed he has been struggling with groin and thigh problems for some time.

Speaking to Sky Sports Pienaar said: “The injury has been giving me lots of problems over the last few months. I’ve decided to go for the operation after the international.”

The South African has failed to make a significant impact since his January move to Spurs from Everton.

Spurs wait on Lukaku decision.

Belgian youngster Romelu Lukaku is set to make a decision on his future in the next few days. He has emerged as one of the most exciting transfer targets of the summer.

It seems likely he will join an English club after many Premier League clubs have expressed an interest. Spurs are certainly in the market for strikers this summer and manager Harry Redknapp has been to watch him recently.

However, speaking to Sky Sports he said: “I’ll be going to one of the top two or three clubs in England. I want to leave, because I want to score goals in as stadium where there are 50000 people, and play in the Champions League.”

This last statement is likely to rule out Spurs as a possible destination after failing to qualify for next seasons Champions League.
