According to reports in The Sun today Spurs have stepped up their interest in German defender Serdar Tasci. It is understood that Harry Redknapp bid unsuccessfully for the centre back last summer.
Tasci is valued at £12 million and is also being closely monitored by some unnamed Premiership clubs as well as Juventus and Lazio. His agent Maurizio Gaudino told The Sun: “Tottenham and two other clubs are keen on Serdar. No discussions are yet under way, but it’s down to the interested clubs to speak to Stuttgart and myself.”
Tasci was born in Germany to Turkish parents but fancies a move away from his homeland after Stuttgart finished a disappointing 12th in the Bundesliga.

Bentley wanted by Athletico.
David Bentley has emerged as a shock transfer target for Athletico Madrid according to reports in the Daily Star this morning. It is also believed that Fulham are chasing his signature too.
Bentley has struggled to establish himself at Spurs since his £15 million move from Blackburn three years ago. He spent the last few months of the season on loan at Birmingham but failed to make an impression.
New Fulham manager Martin Jol is rumoured to be looking for some wide players top add to his squad and Bentley would fit that criteria.
Redknapp to sell before he can buy.
Harry Redknapp has told Sky Sports he must sell four or five squad players before he can look to strengthen his team. It is understood the White Hart Lane board have told him he must bring in funds before outlaying more money.
Redknapp said: “I need to sell four or five players to bring in funds. The chairman has made it clear we need to move a few players before we can start doing business. I keep seeing us linked with this player and that, but unless we reduce our squad numbers we will stay quiet in the market.”
