Barcelona set to finalise Bojan sale in wake of Sanchez purchase

Barcelona’s reported capture of Udinese forward Alexis Sanchez looks set to push through Bojan Krkic’s move to Roma.

As the Catalans moved a step closer to securing their 22-year-old Chilean target Sanchez for an initial fee of €27m, with further, substantial add-ons, it is thought his arrival opens the door for the Spanish Under-21 international Bojan to depart to Rome.

Roma’s director of sport Walter Sabatini had agreed an initial deal with the Barca No 9 and his club as long as a month ago. However, the delay in the transfer has been for two reasons – firstly the Blaugrana’s reluctance to sell him without first securing one of Sanchez or Giuseppe Rossi and secondly over the price of the buy-back clause inserted in his contract after the first two seasons in Italy.

These are now thought to be €10m after the first season and €15m after the second, with Roma expected to pay between €10m and €12m to secure the forward.
