Blackburn Rovers have signed Argentinian striker Hugo Mariano Pavone, according to Sky
Mariano, 29, spent last season at relegated giants River Plate in Argentina, on-loan from La Liga side Real Betis, scoring ten goals in 34 appearances, and was the Clausura 2005 top-goalscorer in the Primera division. Following that season, Pavone went on to make a €6.8m switch to Spain, but failed to establish himself, scoring 16 in 76 appearances over four years.
The former Estudiantes star signs on a free transfer, and without the need for a work-permit, allowing him to join up with the Blackburn squad straightaway.
