Blackburn complete signing of Argentinian striker

Blackburn Rovers have signed Argentinian striker Hugo Mariano Pavone, according to Sky Sports.

Mariano, 29, spent last season at relegated giants River Plate in Argentina, on-loan from La Liga side Real Betis, scoring ten goals in 34 appearances, and was the Clausura 2005 top-goalscorer in the Primera division. Following that season, Pavone went on to make a €6.8m switch to Spain, but failed to establish himself, scoring 16 in 76 appearances over four years.

The former Estudiantes star signs on a free transfer, and without the need for a work-permit, allowing him to join up with the Blackburn squad straightaway.
