New Manchester City signing Gael Clichy insists that his side will be genuine challengers for the Premier League title this season, reports the BBC.
Clichy, 25, signed from Arsenal this Summer for £7m, and believes that his move north will mean more trophies for the French left-back:
“Last season we finished third and won the FA Cup. The desire for winning is bigger than ever. It was the right time for me to move on, and City is the right opportunity. It was good to have a change… for sure, City [are] big contenders for the title”.
Asked whether Man City would provide a better opportunity for winning trphies, Clichy said: “The team is progressing year on year, and with the quality of the squad I’m sure that we will have success.”
