Jol delight with Zamora and Johnson partnership

After watching both Andrew Johnson and Bobby Zamora find the net last night in Fulham’s 4-0 victory against Crusaders, which completed a 7-1 aggregate triumph in the Europa League Second Qualifying Round, manager Martin Jol told Team Talk that he believes the pair can form a partnership which will strike fear into the hearts of opposition defences over the forthcoming season.

In addition to the efficiency with which Johnson and Zamora linked up last-night to put Crusaders to the sword, by all accounts the pair displayed a good understanding in Fulham’s 3-1 1st leg victory in Ireland last week, with Zamora also on target then.

Subsequently Jol revealed that he believes these encouraging performances by Johnson and Zamora are a sign of things to come from his England international strike-force. “Even if we are up against a tough defence we know we can strong goals. I feel there are a lot more goals in Andy Johnson. Every game when I see him he is quick and can score goals. If you saw Bobby in the 1st half, (against Crusaders) if he is in the flow he is a very good target.”
