Lazio run the rule over Afellay and Milito

Lazio are the latest club to run the rule over the surfeit of quality players at Barcelona and are interested in taking Ibrahim Afellay and Gabriel Milito to Rome.

The Italians have asked Barca to keep them informed if either becomes available for loan or transfer, although the chances of Afellay leaving the Camp Nou are remote. The Dutch winger only joined the Catalans six months ago from PSV for a reported €3m fee and boss Pep Guardiola has used him in some important games, albeit from the bench. Afellay figured in the Champions League semi-final first-leg win over Real Madrid and also played a few minutes in the final itself at Wembley against Manchester United. He has a contract until June, 2015, although if Lazio were to make a substantial offer then it might be considered.

In Milito´s case, Barca boss Pep Guardiola would not stand in his way despite having told him back in January he still had a future at the Camp Nou. The 30-year-old centre-back was on the verge of a move to M
