Manchester City are waiting to hear the outcome of Samir Nasri’s proposed talks with Arsenal before deciding their next move, according to Manchester Evening News.
Man City continue to play down talk of a swoop for the French international, however, the midfielder is expected to hold showdown talks with his north London club this week.
He is seeking a much-improved deal financially, but Arsenal may not be willing to be held to ransom and if this proves the case, then at least three clubs – Chelsea, Man Utd and of course Man City – are reportedly waiting in the wings.

No Barry sale.
Manchester City have dismissed rumours that Gareth Barry could be on his way out of the club, ESPN Soccernet report.
Roberto Mancini’s agent, Giorgio De Giorgis, was talking about the club’s reported interest in Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi, and dropped a subtle hint Barry could be used as a makeweight in any deal.
However, a Man City spokesperson deflated the rumours: “Mr Giorgis is not mandated by the football club to deal with transfers in or out of Manchester City,” they continued.
“Furthermore, there is no intention to sell Gareth Barry, who remains a valued member of the team.”
Clichy relishing challenge.
New Man City signing Gael Clichy is relishing the prospect of his new challenge at Eastlands, Sky Sports report.
The ex-Arsenal full back sealed his move this week, but faces stiff competition for a starting berth, with the likes of Aleksandar Kolorov, Pablo Zabaleta and Joleon Lescott also in line.
However, the Frenchman is looking forward to his next chapter: “I believe in life as well as in sport you have to push yourself towards your objectives, and my objectives have always been to play for the best team I can and be the best player I can.”
He continued: “Of course I’m aware of the risks. With so many top players here it’s not going to be easy. But I have spoken to the manager and I know what he wants and he knows what I want.”
