Sevilla’s Perotti linked with Juventus

Sevilla player Diego Perotti is thought to be attracting interest from Italian giants Juventus, as the Old Lady look to solve their left-wing problems.

The Turin-based club had been linked with Juan Manuel Vargas of Fiorentina and Michel Bastos of Lyon, however a reported deal for the latter stalled and Il Corriere dello Sport believe the considerably cheaper Perotti is the man now at the top of their list.

Although a cheaper option, the Italians could struggle to persuade Sevilla President Jose Maria Del Nido to let go of one of his prized-assets with the Spaniard being a famously hard-negotiator.

The Argentine winger attracted interest from Premier League sides Liverpool and Tottenham towards the beginning of the summer and were heavily linked with bids of around €14m, but again Del Nido moved to quell any rumours, stating in no uncertain terms that the player was not available for transfer.

It also seems unlikely that the Spaniards will allow him to leave with new Coach Marcelino Garcia Toral classing Perotti as a key member of the squad. Nevertheless, the Italian publication believe Juventus will test the resolve of Sevilla by offering €10m.

The sale of Diego Capel to Sporting Lisbon would likely mean the Spaniards are even less enthusiastic about selling Perotti with the club harbouring ambitions of finishing in the top four in La Liga next season. Ever since joining the two-time UEFA Cup winners from Deportivo Moron in 2007, Perotti has gone on to make 73 La Liga appearances.
