Speculation and determination return in equal measure to Real Madrid’s Kaka

A mixed pre-season sees speculation again return to Real Madrid’s Ricky Kaka, even as the player commits to the club.

Where the 29-year-old showed glimpses of form returning against LA Galaxy, in the team’s opening pre-season match of their US tour, the following two 45-minute disappointing cameos against Chivas and Philadelphia Union have left the Press speculating that the club may be tempted to cash in on reported interest that still remains.

Having cost €68.5m in 2009, the Brazilian has struggled to make an impact in the same way as Cristiano Ronaldo, first through adapting to the League, and then a fall-out and troubles with injury under Jose Mourinho.

On the same pay packet as Ronaldo, both Coach and player have however, expressed a desire to work together in 2011-12, with the player insisting: “Every day I am improving, I feel better physically. Slowly, slowly, I’m finding my confidence.

“After two difficult seasons, this season can be very good. I hope this year to enjoy playing football with Real Madrid.”
