Defoe to snub Newcastle.

Spurs striker Jermain Defoe has moved quickly to quash rumours circulating about a possible move to Newcastle Sky Sports reports. The 28-year-old striker would apparently turn down a deal seeing him move to St. James Park if given the chance. Despite Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp being in the market for another striker, it is thought that Defoe remains firmly in the boss’ plans. The England international played in the recent pre-season friendly versus MK Dons and is thought to be happy playing his football at White Hart Lane.

Townsend eyes Millwall return.

Tottenhams exciting young winger Andros Townsend has expressed an interest in returning to Millwall for a second loan spell. The Lions were the 6th club to take the 20-year old on loan,  and the winger enjoyed his most succesful spell to date at The New Den grabbing two goals in eleven games. The youngster  told The Sun: ‘If Tottenham send me back I’ll be delighted.’
