Michael Dawson has responded quickly and angrily to rumours linking him with a move away from Tottenham. Recent speculation has put the centre back on a collision course with the club after a derisory contract extension was offered.
However, Dawson has moved quickly to allay fans fears by releasing a strong denial of the claims. Talking to the official Tottenham website, he said: “I have no idea where this story has come from – it certainly has not come from myself or any of my representatives.”
Dawson has been at Spurs since 2005 and signed his last contract in 2010 which expires in 2015.

The captain’s armband is free this season after Ivan de la Pena retired.
Pienaar looking forward.
Steven Pienaar is looking to put his injury troubles behind him after a frustrating start to his White Hart Lane career. He signed from Everton in January and was restricted to only 11 appearances before the end of the season.
Speaking to Sky Sports he said: “I’m definitely looking forward, I had a lot of ups and downs in the first few months with injuries. Hopefully I can put it behind me and go on and see what will happen this season.”
Pienaar was included in the squad that travelled to his native South Africa for Spur’s pre-season tour.
