Tottenham news – Pav wants Spurs stay, QPR target Crouch, Keller urges rethink

Pav wants Spurs stay.

With Tottenham facing a fight to hang onto Luka Modric, striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has come out and stated his desire to remain at White Hart Lane.

Although he has struggled to establish himself under manager Harry Redknapp the Russian international remains committed to the club.

His agent Oleg Artemov told Sovetskiy Sport: “We haven’t talked about Roman’s future with Tottenham yet. We don’t care about any other offers because Roman wants to stay in London, his heart belongs to Spurs.”

QPR target Crouch.

The People have reported that QPR are targeting Peter Crouch in a bid to remain in the Premier League. So far this summer they have been targeting out of contract players but a bid of £6 million for Crouch is expected later this week.

The 30 year old striker enjoyed a brief spell at Loftus Road earlier in his career and now faces an uncertain period at Spurs; Harry Redknapp has been told he must sell before he can buy.

There are several fringe players who Redknapp is looking to offload. However, he may be forced to sell one of his bigger name players in order to generate money for a big name purchase.

Keller urges rethink.

Former Spurs player Kasey Keller has urged the club to decide if they are serious about gate crashing the top four. The ex-goalkeeper feels that Spurs will fail in their attempts to keep Luka Modric which will confirm his old clubs status as a selling club.

Keller said: “Spurs have had this problem for years. I don’t see Manchester City selling their players to rivals, Manchester United don’t do it. If you want to be one of the big boys you have to act like it.”
