Uruguay get Group C underway later today in San Juan against Peru, with both teams suffering from injury problems.
Uruguay, already missing full-back Jorge Fucile from the squad, were concerned about centre-back Diego Godin, the regular partner of captain, Diego Lugano. Godin tore a muscle in training for the Copa America and although initially a doubt to travel to Argentina, has recovered sufficiently to not only be included in the squad but to probably be on the bench for today’s match.
