Villarreal have named Mallorca goalkeeper Dudu Aouate as their main target if they lose Diego Lopez to Atletico Madrid, Marca has revealed.
Atletico have been looking for a replacement for David de Gea following his departure to Manchester United and have been heavily linked to Villarreal’s shot stopper Lopez, with the Yellow Submarine now also not wasting any time in lining up Lopez’s own potential replacement.
Villarreal Coach Juan Carlos Garrido is looking for a solid goalkeeper with experience in La Liga and sees the highly-rated Israeli keeper as the perfect candidate. Aouate is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the League because of his outstanding performances last season and has spent the last eight years in Spain having played for Racing Santander, Deportivo and Mallorca.
Los Bermellones are expected to demand a fee of around €4m for their star goalkeeper which any sale of Lopez would generate the funds for.
