Arsenal have told Manchester City that they can have Samir Nasri, but only if they allow Carlos Tevez to move to the Emirates, according to The Sun.
The Argentinean forward has been trying to get out of Manchester all summer and could be open to the option of a move to London. Nasri has been interested in a move to City all summer and had reportedly been offered a £180,000-a-week deal, but Arsenal have blocked the move to see if they can arrange a swap for Tevez.
City’s valuation of Tevez is around £50m, so Arsenal will be looking to get the former Manchester United and West Ham striker’s valuation down and then use the money from the potential sales of Nasri and Cesc Fabregas to bring in the 27-year-old. Tevez had previously said that he wanted to be closer to his family, but the move to London could be of interest to him.
An Arsenal insider said: “Tevez would be the signing to give everyone a lift. There is a lot of work to be done yet, but if there is a will on all sides, it can happen. Nasri wants to get to City, Tevez wants to get out and Wenger needs a new star. It seems like win-win all round.”

No Mata move.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has told fans that the club will not be signing Juan Mata from Spanish side Valencia, The Mirror reports.
There had been reports that Mata was being touted as the ideal replacement for the outgoing Samir Nasri and Valencia were ready to sell the Spaniard. However, Wenger has ruled out any move for the 23-year-old playmaker and has revealed that the only move the Gunners are thinking of at the moment is to bring in a new central defender.
Wenger said: “We will not do a deal for Juan Mata. I don’t have to give a reason, we will not do it. We will have a centre-back by the end of the transfer window – because Vermaelen only played five games last year. If I’m convinced the player has the qualities, I will always do it if he’s better than the players we have.”
Gunners to complete Campbell signing.
Arsenal have confirmed that they have agreed terms with Saprissa to sign teenage striker Joel Campbell, arsenalfc.com reports.
The 19 –year-old has been a transfer target for the Gunners for some time and the Premier League side have reportedly agreed a deal of £900,000 for the striker. The deal stalled earlier this summer when other clubs confirmed interest in the Costa Rican, but Campbell is close to agreeing personal terms on a four-year-deal with the Gunners.
Arsenal said: “Joel Campbell has already shown that he is a player with great ability and has also performed well on the international stage at a young age. We look forward to the formalities of the transfer being completed and working with Joel when he joins us at Arsenal.”
Campbell will become the fourth Gunners signing following the transfers of Gervinho, Carl Jenkinson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to the club.
