Chelsea have completed the signing of Mexico under-20 international forward Ulises Davila from Mexican side Chivas, chelseafc.com confirms.
The 20-year-old signs a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge and joins new signings Romelu Lukaku, Juan Mata and Oriel Romeu at Chelsea. Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas is looking to bring in young talent to revitalise the ageing Chelsea line-up and he has jumped quickly to sign Davila who performed brilliantly at the U20 World Cup this summer in Colombia.
Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo said: “We are delighted to have been able to get this deal done. Chivas is a superb club with a strong reputation in player development and we are confident Ulises will be able to continue his fast development to become an important Chelsea first-team player.”
Chivas’ development system is excellent with Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez, Arsenal’s Carlos Vela and Fulham defender Carlos Salcido all graduates of the academy. Davila will be looking to meet his new teammates following the two week international break the club now faces.

Lukaku wants to team up with younger brother.
New Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has told his new club they should go out and buy his younger brother Jordan, according to The Sunday Mirror.
Eighteen-year-old Romelu made his Blues debut on Saturday against Premier League new boys Norwich City and revealed that making his debut was an “amazing” feeling. Manager Andre Villas-Boas brought Lukaku in from Anderlecht this summer and now he has been told by Romelu to have a look at bringing in Jordan Lukaku, the 17-year-old sibling of the new Blues signing.
Lukaku said: “Technically, Jordan is better than me, I can admit that. He is very skilful and also strong. I think when the scouts see him, they will see what he can do.”
Jordan Lukaku was linked with a move to Arsenal last year and reports emerged that the parents of the two brothers were keen on them to be close to each other if they both moved away from Belgium. Jordan currently plays at Anderlecht, the former club of Romelu before his Blues move.
Drogba better than first feared.
Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that Chelsea forward Didier Drogba is to go for a scan following a sickening head injury against Norwich on Saturday, Sky Sports reports.
The Ivorian collided with Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy and tumbled to the floor. Drogba required lengthy treatment and was reportedly out cold in the Blues dressing room for a lengthy period of time before being sent off to hospital. Villas-Boas has reassured fans at Stamford Bridge that the Ivorian is better than first feared and will have to go for a scan to see the damage.
Villas-Boas said: “He is a little better and coming round. He is going for a full scan to assess the extent of the head injury and the concussion. He has made steady progress since he has fallen. I have to complement my medical staff for being able to react straight away to a dangerous situation.”
