Italian side Inter Milan are weighing up a move for Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt as they look to rebuild their squad, talkSPORT reports.
The Serie A giants are planning to bring in the Dutchman as a replacement for forward Samuel Eto’o, whose lucrative transfer to mega-rich Russian side Anzhi Makcachkala is set to be completed sometime this week. Kuyt was linked with a move to the San Siro last summer, but he opted to sign a new deal at Anfield until 2014.
Kuyt is said to be happy at Liverpool and will reject any advances from the Nerazzurri, but if enough money is put on the table, Reds boss Kenny Dalglish could be prepared to offload the hard-working striker in order to re-arrange his squad.
The Dutch forward has spoken of the interest and said: ‘Maybe people think that I want to leave. But it doesn’t work like that for me. Liverpool has a very big squad and therefore sometimes, you could be on the bench. It’s my intention to stay here, though you know nothing is certain. In football, things can be different tomorrow’.

Greek defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos has left Liverpool on a free transfer to join Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, The Liverpool Echo reports.
The 32 year old penned a two year deal with the German side and could be one of many players exiting Anfield this summer, as Reds boss Kenny Dalglish looks to reshape his squad. Kyrgiakos joined the Reds from AEK Athens in August 2009 for £2m and went on to score three times in 49 appearances. Kyrgiakos only started four games under Dalglish last season and returns to Germany, a country where he spent two season with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Liverpool are also looking to offload seven other players in this summer’s transfer window. David N’Gog could make a switch to Bolton Wanderers, Alberto Aquilani looks set to join Italian giants AC Milan and QPR are looking into the possibility of signing Joe Cole on a season-long loan.
Four other players that Dalglish is keen to move out of Anfield are midfielder Christian Poulsen, goalkeeper Brad Jones and defenders Philipp Degen and Emiliano Insua.
Milan in for Aquilani.
Italian giants AC Milan have been in talks with Liverpool and are hoping to agree a fee over the signing of midfielder Alberto Aquilani, according to The Mirror.
Aquilani’s agent, Franco Zavaglia, claims the Reds midfielder could join AC Milan within the next 48 hours. Aquilani spent last season in Italy with Juventus on loan and is now looking to move back to his homeland to gain regular first-team football.
Zavaglia said: ‘The involved parties are working on this case and between Wednesday and Thursday, everything will be decided’.
Milan owner, and Italian prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi confirmed they are keen on the midfielder and are looking into the possibility of bringing the player to the San Siro. Berlusconi said: ‘We are negotiating for Aquilani. I like him a lot, he’s an interesting player’.
