Adebayor in Lennon swap link.

The Mirror have reported this morning that Manchester City are trying to sign Spurs winger Aaron Lennon in exchange for Emmanuel Adebayor. It is no secret that Harry Redknapp is interested in the Togolese striker but the question would be whether he wanted to lose his speedster on the wing.

It is understood that Lennon maybe available for transfer after having a mixed season for Spurs last year. Harry Redknapp is known as a bit of a gambler when it comes to transfers and could consider it worth the risk.

Spurs lead Barton race.

It appears that Spurs have stolen ground on other leading clubs in the pursuit of Joey Barton. The Newcastle midfielder was placed on the transfer list after yet another bust up with the clubs hierarchy.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live his agent Willie McKay said: “It is great news for Joey. We have been inundated with interest. We’re talking to top Premier League clubs and European clubs. One is very, very interested.”

The Metro has speculated this morning that Spurs are the very, very interested side. They have begun to stutter in the transfer market after failing to land Scott Parker from West Ham.

Player exchange for Samba.

The Sun has reported this morning that Spurs have made a £10 million swoop for Blackburn’s Christopher Samba. It is thought that the bid is a cash-plus-player deal for the Congolese centre back.

It is thought that Spurs do not want to pay all the money in a lump sum so have included one of Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe, David Bentley and Sebastien Bassong. It is thought that Samba is keen on a move to Spurs but is also considering a switch to Arsenal if the can make a significant offer.
