Tottenham news – Bond: No intention of Modric sale, Pjanic not for sale, Rossi off the market

Bond: No intention of Modric sale.

Spurs assistant manager Kevin Bond has stated that if the right bid comes in Luka Modric could leave the club. Daniel Levy and Harry Redknapp have been adamant that the Croatian would not leave but Bond’s comments put a different spin on the situation.

Speaking to Sky Sports Bond said: “We desperately don’t want to lose him, but every player has a price.” However, a few hours later Bond attempted to clarify his comments by adding: “For the purpose of clarification and in case my comments this morning inadvertently mislead anyone, the clubs position on Modric is quite clear – we have no intention of selling him.”

Although Modric has five years remaining on his contract he is reported to have already handed in a transfer request.

Pjanic not for sale.

Lyon coach Remi Garde has insisted that Spurs target Miralem Pjanic will not be leaving the club this summer. Spurs have been strongly linked with a move for the highly rated Bosnian International.

Despite links of a £10m move Remi Garde told France Football: “Mira to leave? I don’t think so. I am not sure if the President has received any genuine proposals. But I rely on him very much.”

It is thought he could be the replacement for Luka Modric if he moves this summer.

Rossi off the market.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has been forced to abandon his pursuit of Villareal striker Giuseppe Rossi. The Italian striker, 24, formerly of Manchester United, had been one of Redknapp’s biggest targets this summer.

The Sun have stated that the Spanish side began the summer desperate to offload the striker in order to aid their financial situation. However, it is understood that after selling Santi Cazorla to Malaga they no longer need to cash in on Rossi.
