Tottenham news – Spurs close on Adebayor deal, Bale focused on Hearts test, Kranjcar nears move

Spurs close on Adebayor deal.

Tottenham are closing in on a season long loan deal for Emmanuel Adebayor the Daily Star claims today. It is well known that Harry Redknapp is desperate to add to his striking options and Adebayor could even be signed in time to play against Manchester United on Monday.

The stumbling block appears to have been the amount of wages the clubs are prepared to pay. They have finally agreed to split his incredible £170,000 a week wage packet 50:50.

It is a move that will cause controversy after Adebayor’s two and half year spell at arch-rivals Arsenal.

Bale focused on Hearts test.

Gareth Bale has insisted he and his team-mates are focused and ready for the Europa League play-off game against Hearts tomorrow. With Spurs being huge favourites Bale is adamant that the Scottish side will not be under estimated.

Speaking to Spurs TV Bale said: “We fully know what to expect at Hearts, we know they will probably look to come at us but we’ll also be raring to go. I’m sure it will be a good game and we won’t take it likely, that’s for sure. We’ll treat it like any other game and go out to win.”

Kranjcar nears move.

Niko Kranjcar’s agent has told the Daily Express that the player is close to signing a deal to join Sunderland. The Croatian midfield playmaker has been linked with a move away this summer as he struggled to hold down a regular place in the team last season.

Speaking to the paper Adrian Aljai said: “We are about to close a deal with Sunderland. I believe this is the best solution for Niko.” Kranjcar has been at Spurs for the last two years after signing from Portsmouth.
