Tottenham have made a deadline day move for Bolton’s Gary Cahill according to reports in the Mirror today. It had been rumoured that North London rivals Arsenal were also going for the England centre back but reports last night suggested their interest had ended.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is attempting to include Sebastien Bassong and David Bentley in any deal struck with Bolton. However, it is thought that Coyle is eyeing a straight cash deal and might take the players on a seasons loan.

Parker deal close.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed to Sky Sports that the club are closing on a deal to sign Scott Parker from West Ham. Although there has been interest from QPR too it appears the North London club are in pole position to sign the England International.
Redknapp revealed: “It’s very close to being done, hopefully it will be done today. He is a good player. I think he is what we need. A good lad, with a great attitude.”
Crouch exit nears.
Tottenham striker Peter Crouch appeared to be on the verge of signing for Stoke City yesterday but has done a last minute U-turn after deciding against a move away from London.
An initial bid of £10 million was accepted but he rejected the £65,000 a week on the table. The Mirror understands that Stoke manager Tony Pulis is going to attempt to increase the basic wage offer to lure him to the Britannia Stadium
The main issue appears to be Crouch leaving London, however the latest reports today suggest that Crouch could be nearing a move to Sunderland, who are long-term admirers of the England international.
