Sky Sports understands that Spurs are considering a move for out of contract midfielder Owen Hargreaves. The 30 year old is keen to find himself a new club after being released by Manchester United.
Redknapp is desperate to reinforce his midfield after seeing his side decimated through injuries and transfer speculation. Sandro is still recovering from surgery, Huddlestone and Jenas have also been struggling with injuries. The constant rumours surrounding Modric along with Palacios’ protracted move to Stoke have all contributed to Redknapp’s lack of options.
It is thought it will be a short-term offer based on the player’s fitness. If he can prove his fitness it could prove to be a gamble well worth taking.

Redknapp: Modric didn’t want to play.
The Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has come out and stated that Luka Modric came to him and informed him he could not play in the game against Manchester City at the weekend. He has been the subject of speculation all summer regarding a move to Chelsea.
Redknapp told The Sun: “Luke came to me at 11.30am, and said to me, ‘I don’t feel my head is right today.’” It appears he then convinced the Croatian to play and indeed he featured for 65 minutes in the 5-1 defeat to Manchester City.
Wigan target Dos Santos.
Wigan Athletic are understood to be monitoring Giovani Dos Santos’ future and are prepared to offer him a contract. The 22 year old Mexican winger moved to White Hart Lane in 2008 but has struggled to become a regular member of the first team.
The Mexican has been sent on loan previously to Galatasary, Ipswich Town and Racing Santander in order to play regular football. It appears that Harry Redknapp does not consider him a member of his squad this season and according to Sky Sports Wigan are waiting to make their move.
